636 Optimising Operative Capacity for Hand Trauma - An audit

Abstract Aim Assess compliance with departmental and BSSH guidelines for hand trauma. Optimise operative capacity within the department. Promote minor ops experience among junior doctors. Method Retrospective review of overbooked patients seen in Hand trauma Unit (HTU) August 2020 using eTrauma system time to operation Lorenzo patient record system. Results Overall Local Compliance rates Main area non-compliance was waiting tendon operations, a 30% breech rate (>5 days time). Conclusions Interventions before re-audit: On call doctor be based HTU whole day- will allow procedures (nail beds skin lacerations) done at bedside. The above free up theatre tendons.
